Adaptation Fund Renewable CERs

What is the Adaptation Fund

The Adaptation Fund has been established by countries that ratified the Kyoto Protocol to finance concrete adaptation programmes in developing countries. Adaptation programmes are aimed to help countries fight the adverse impacts of climate change, such as draughts, floods, epidemics, loss of agricultural yields etc. Two per cent of Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) issued for each Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project are allocated to the UN Adaptation Fund.
